FLC Technology is one of the earliest companies in China to explore the hybrid balance armature and dynamic driver technology. In 2011, it is the first company to launch a hybrids customs. The FLC 8S is the first universial hybrid balance armature and dynamic earphones by FLC technology. Due to FLC Technology's extensive experience in the hybrid technology, the FLC 8S features excellent cross over technology which creates a coherent sound between the dual balanced armature drivers and the dynamic drivers.

FLC 8S recongises that there is no one size fit all sound signature for all users. Hence, it is designed to be highly tuneable so that users can tune it according to their sound preference. While tuneable earphones are not new in the market, the FLC 8S represents the pinnacle of this technology as it allows for 36 variations of sound unlike most tuneable earphones which allows only 3 different sound signature at most.

The FLC 8S comes with improved built quality and comes with braided cables as compared to the FLC 8.

    Don't hesitate, just get them.

Posted by Andy Laing on 29th Dec 2015

Sound first - using all the grey filters which is as close to a baseline as you'll get, these are balanced, but not flat. Oh no, anything but flat. They are tuned to make every part of the sound both clear and musical. Bass extends low and can punch without ever bloating, and the treble is also well extended and is well detailed without being harsh. The mids are a highlight for me, finding the perfect balance between clarity and fullness.

But theres more! The soundstaging is natural and will depend on the recording, but the imaging and separation is top notch, almost scarily so. If a sound should be behind you, it will be (I've experienced that). Coming from just about anything cheaper, you'll hear stuff you've never heard before. PRaT is off the charts, its hard not to get lost in the sound or to keep your head from nodding.

The filter system is used to tilt the balance slightly. You won't make these bass cannons, for example, but most people seem to like the red low bass filter for maximum sub-bass. I leave the upper bass filter grey and put in the gold mid/treble filter for the glorious mids. Guitars, guitars guitars. And vocals too, haha. So freaking good.

I would not recommend using the tweezers for the filters, just use your nails and be careful. Its easy enough but obviously they're tiny things that can be lost. Apparently a successor is in the works that will simplify this, but it has no ETA and its not worth missing out on the FLC8s in the meantime.

The overall package is solid, the box is really cool and you get a nice solid metal storage tin, besides more tips and a cleaning tool and the filters of course. The only weakness for me is that the memory wire on the newer cables (thats the difference for the 's' version of the FLC8) is not great, can get a little annoying. But they can be worked with and hey, removable cables.

These are going out of stock all of a sudden for a reason.

    Hard to beat ..

Posted by Unknown on 12th Dec 2015

Well, i tried many iems and ciems, from 30$ to 1K$, and they beat all of them in every way, powerfull bass, that's really the best point of them, detailled highs, mids are very good too
Soundstage is mainly lateral but very coherent
A very good point (for me) is the seal, they are light and fit perfect instantly !
The only thing that lacks is maybe they are too bright, idk but they need some warmth sometimes like for the oldish records like james brown, but well with a dark sounding dac it could be better.
Anyway, for the FLC9 i suggest a wider soundstage, and a little bit less bright sound, but for the price, YOU CAN'T GO WRONG !

    Sets the Bar

    Posted by Kneat63 on 29th Oct 2015

Recently decided to upgrade from my Klipsch x7i. I really enjoyed the sound (relatively flat, great mids and vocals, a little light in bass) but build quality and microphonics are significant issues. Compared several mid-level phones including FLC8s, Audiofly AF180, Shure SE535, Grado GR10e, DUNU DN2000J. Long story short, I ended up keeping FLC8s which for my tastes outperformed and were significantly cheaper than most of the other units I auditioned. Great product and highly recommended.

    The sound is amazing

Really happy to invest in FLC 8S. Even if the cable is a little bit tough, I prefer softer cables, but overall both build and sound quality are exactly what I expected and I'm really enjoy the sound of these IEM.

Amazing sound quality and balance. Mid-fi at its best.

I’ve had this for a month and loved it since day one. Played around with the tuning for the first two days and my favorite setting is the red (extra) subbass, grey (normal) bass and gold (upfront mids) nozzle. Because of its lightness and small size (for a hybrid), the fit is excellent, you can wear it over-ear or straight down.

To my ears they are a direct upgrade to the GR07 with authoritative bass, crystal clear mids and treble, with an exciting sparkle hard to beat. The best part is the adjustability of the sound signature. EDM? Crank up the bass! Vocals? Let's put the mids front and centre. Extremely versatile, although for me it was set-and-forget after I found my favorite setting. Soundstage has average width and depth for the price range, on par with DN2000. Serapation and detail are top-notch as well.

The balance is fantastic, and beats any hybrid I’ve listened to. It’s an immensely fun listen and I’ll surely keep this for a long time.
